Research
A comprehensive understanding of how different types of payments are used and change over time is a critical element of discussions on co-operative payment services in the UK.
The Payments Council undertakes regular and ad hoc market research to support its work and provides market analysis and forecasts.
Our main in-house data sources are the clearing and card payment statistics provided by Payments Council and UK Cards Association members and the Consumer Payments Survey. The Consumer Payments Survey is a continuous research survey which has been commissioned on an ongoing basis since 1988. This research provides a wealth of information about personal financial holdings, payments and cash acquisition.
The Payments Council produces publications covering a whole range of research, analysis and statistics on different areas of interest in the payments industry.
